Geneva: Baloch Republican Party Central spokesman, Mr. Sher Mohammad Bugti, said in a statement that BRP UK chapter held a 7 days awareness campaign outside the PM office in London to highlight the unending enforced disappearances, human rights violations, kill and dump in Balochistan.
The campaign started on 19th January which came to an end with a protest demonstration on 26th of January.
On the last day of the campaign, a protest demonstration was carried out by the BRP activists which was then joined by the activists of PTM and FBM.
While addressing the protesters, BRP central leader Mansoor Baloch urged the UK government to take notice of human rights violations in Balochistan and practically intervene to pressurize Pakistani government for the release of hundreds of Baloch missing persons.
Meanwhile Free Balochistan Movement (FBM) leader, Faiz Mohammad Baloch said that UK should halt any kind of funds or aid to the Pakistan army, adding that Pakistan army had created many religious groups that were being used to suppress the voice of oppressed nations such as Pashtun, Sindhi and Baloch.
London-based Pashtun Tahafuz Movement (PTM) activist, Falak Niyaz Khan, expressed solidarity with BRP activists on a successful awareness campaign and said that Pashtuns were going through a similar phase. Pashtuns are also being abducted, killed and dumped.
He said that “Pashtuns are too missing in thousands hence we feel the pain of the Baloch people. The demands of the Baloch and Pashtun people are not outside the circle of Pakistan’s constitution; Rather, the Baloch and Pashtun are simply asking for their basic rights to their resources hence being disappeared at the hands of Pakistan army.”
BRP Central Spokesman Sher Mohammad Bugti thanked the activists of FBM, PTM and said that BRP will continue to raise the Baloch plight at every possible forum.
He further said that the state’s policy of abductions, kill and dump has completely failed. Baloch will not back off from their basic demands and we appeal all the European Union member states to notice gross human rights violations and take practical steps to put an end to this.
