Geneva (Republican News) Jawad Muhammad, the president of the Baloch Republican Party in Germany has raised the Balochistan issue in his address at the 37th session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva.
He highlighted the burning human rights situation in Balochistan where massive violations of basic human rights are taking place on a daily basis. Pakistani security abduct, torture and kill Baloch political activists and civilians on daily routine.
Hed said, despite being a member state of this council, Pakistan has been unable to fulfil its commitment to human rights and resolutions of this council. Pakistan has always tried to silence any voices being raised on human rights abuses in Balochistan as ‘internal matter’ while human rights are universal and any violations should be a global concern.
He further said, this council is the supreme institutions for human rights in the world and any violation of its resolution by any member country put in question the respect and credibility of this forum. Therefore, Pakistan as a member state should be questioned on rights violations in Balochistan.
“The horrific military operations, enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings of Baloch people by Pakistani forces are amongst worst crimes against humanity being committed”.
We urged the members of the council to speak up on the situation in Balochistan and help prevent the gross human rights violations from escalating.
